Well what can I say. When I originally heard the story of this movie (all women in the near future become infertile and the world goes into chaos) I thought it would be great. A good, gritty futuristic movie is always high on my list. Unfortunately, these types of movies are just too easy to make. Look at Reign of Fire and The Postman – both shit. All of these have lots of cool prop guns, camo, burnt-out cars and grubby-looking people but weak stories. Children of Men at least has a stronger story but it falls short in a few ways.
I’d give it a 5 out of 10, maybe a 6 on a good day.
